ELIGIBILITY

If you are an early to mid-career artist, who is currently not represented in a Brisbane (Australia) gallery AND would like to show your work with us, you are eligible to enter this competition.

  • The Revival Art Prize is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents of 12 months or more who are over the age of 18. Finalists may need to provide identification if requested.
  • Revival Art & Design Gallery employees and employee family members are ineligible to enter.
  • The Revival Art Prize accepts artworks created in the last 12 months.
  • This prize is open to work created from most mediums, providing the work is an original, one of a kind and in a ‘unique state’. Two dimensional, 3D and assemblage works are welcome.
  • Painting size may be up to but not larger than approx. 100 sqcm in any dimensions (eg. 100 x 100cm, 120 x 90cm, 140 x 60cm etc) In other words, any shape or dimension to a maximum of 100 cm squared in size.
  • Small works are welcome. A painting can consist of multiple parts but they must not exceed these overall size limits.

Entry Details and Costs

• Online Entries must be submitted by 11:59 on the closing date.

• A limit of 3 works per artist can be submitted.

• A $45 entry fee shall be paid for a single work and a discounted rate of $80 for two works. The entry fee is non-refundable and contributes to administration and handling.

• Payment can be made by credit card via the gallery website. Should you be unable to pay via this method, please get in touch.

• Entry receipts will not be issued. Your automated payment response is your receipt of entry.

• It is important that submitted artwork images are of sufficient size and resolution to be easily viewed by the judges. Uploaded image(s) should be: – A minimum of 750 pixels on the shortest side – Saved as a .jpg or .png digital file format only (not .jpeg) – Maximum size of each digital file for each image must not exceed 2MB in total.

• File name must include the artist’s name and title of the work as listed on the entry form.

• Entry details must be accurate as these cannot be changed once the entry is lodged. Only selected finalists will have the opportunity to amend minor entry details of their selected artwork.

• Artists consent to being added to the Revival Art Prize Artist electronic mailing list for updates and further information on this and subsequent Revival Art Prizes. Your details will not be shared and an unsubscribe link is provided in each email.

Finalist Information

The list of Finalists will be posted on most social media platforms once the finalists have been selected and notified and subsequently made available on the Revival Emerging Art Prize website. Only selected finalists will be notified by email due to the high volume of entries. Feedback may be available to entrants not selected, after the exhibition has concluded.

• Artworks to be delivered on or before the delivery date above. Artworks being shipped may be delivered earlier. Freight costs and all other charges relating to delivery and collection of Finalist’s artworks are the sole responsibility of the artist. Artworks will not be accepted unless delivered and returned free of all freight and other charges to the gallery. Delivery and collection details will be confirmed with all finalists.

• The selected finalist’s artwork’s must be clearly marked on the reverse with the ARTIST’S NAME, ADDRESS, CONTACT DETAILS (PHONE AND EMAIL), TITLE OF ARTWORK, MEDIUM, SIZE, RETAIL PRICE (the artworks should be priced within your usual pricing range)

• Finalists artworks must be available for sale and Artworks sold prior to the exhibition will be ineligible. The Revival Emerging Art Prize commission on all sales is the gallery’s normal rate of commisssion.

• The Revival Art Prize and its agents will exercise all due care with the works submitted but will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered whatsoever to any artwork while in transit to and from the gallery. Each entrant shall indemnify the Revival Art Prize, and its agents against any loss or damage suffered to his/her art work whatsoever. Each artist is responsible for his/her own artwork insurance.

• All artists selected as finalists authorise Revival Art Prize, to publish their artworks free of copyright, totally or partly, in all publications (catalogues, folders, posters, slide shows, brochures etc) related to the Revival Emerging Art Prize, as well as on the official website and social media presence.

• The Revival Art Prize reserves the right to exhibit the selected finalists artwork only for the exhibition period.

• All exhibited artworks not sold during this period must be collected by the above collection date unless otherwise agreed. Any artworks not collected after the specific exhibition dates, are liable to be stored at the artist’s expense.

Judging

The Judges’ decision is final on all aspects of awarding the Prizes, and no correspondence or appeal will be entered into or considered. A decision by a majority of the judges on any issue shall be deemed to be a valid and binding decision of the judges as a whole. The finalists will be decided by Revival Art & Design director Pauline Elphinstone and the winners will be judged and selected by a panel including our gallery team.
