After spending a sunny afternoon witnessing the delights of Brisbane’s James Street precinct, Nicole felt compelled to create this contemporary statement piece.
With a touch of humour.
Fancy cars, party frocks and the bold and the beautiful were all present, as were a profusion of sweet pups, which frequently make an appearance in Nicole’s paintings whether encouraged or not.
In Sundays on James Street, she has used a monochrome palette to capture the warm afternoon air, her expressive brush marks tell a story of a happy vibe and if you look closely you will see a dozen or more furry friends of James Street.
Nicole is a Brisbane artist and has been showing with Revival Art and Design since 2019. Her work has featured in a number of our group shows and at the Affordable Art Fairs in 2022 and 2023. Nicole is also a finalist in our inaugural Art Prize, March 2023.
