DESCRIPTION:Amber Simpson\nWaterbodies \nCreating art outside of time on Turrbal country\, Amber Simpson’s\nrecent body of work invokes a dreamy stillness where sparkling\nwatery landscapes caress and contrast with iconically designed\nliving spaces outlined in timber veneer: the world within and the\nworld without.\nAmber puts a contemporary twist on traditional marquetry\, inlaying\nhand cut wood veneer to create an abstract base upon which she\napplies vibrant/dreamy waterscapes in oil.\nInspired by locations such as Carnarvon Gorge\, Lakes Kurwongbah and\nSamsonvale\, even the Nile in Egypt\, Amber’s work is often described\nas an intersection between art\, craft and design\, giving her work\nbroad aesthetic appeal and decorative value. Her exhibition\n‘Waterbodies’ weaves a transcendent narrative around stillness and\nthe sacred.\nAmber was born in Bowral\, NSW\, and is a graduate of North Adelaide\nSchool of the Arts. Her work is in private collections in Australia\,\nNew Zealand and Singapore. After graduating from Qld College of Art\, she spent her early career freelancing for advertising and architectural firms and creating commissioned oil paintings for diverse commercial and private spaces. Having won numerous oil painting categories\, Lisa Rink was also a finalist in both the Doyle’s Art Prize and the Recent Queen’s Wharf Art Prize. \nNow residing in both Noosa and Palm Beach (Gold Coast) Lisa’s work has evolved and celebrates different aspects of her coastal lifestyle\, her travels and her family that keeps her grounded. In this inspired collection of work you’ll find exquisite figurative studies\, sweeping coastal landscapes and moments of beauty. \n

DESCRIPTION:Having been on a Residency in Santa Fe recently\, Nicole has evolved her ‘mighty women’ into wanderers in the landscape – exploring\, protecting and remaining strong . This is a new collection and direction\, that sees her women ‘queening’ their surrounds\, whilst remaining sensitive and responsive to them. \nHer work is strongly influenced by the experience of Georgia O’Keefe in Santa Fe – and she is always seeking to forge works in which women are fearless\, capable and seen. \nFor this show\, the artist has explored new themes and pushed herself out of her comfort zone creating high impact\, large scale works. For fans of Nicole McPherson’s work\, this show is a must see!
